Title IX and Sexual Assault Resources

ϲʹ Cross College is committed to providing a safe and non-discriminatory learning, living, and working environment for all members of the College community. In accordance with the provisions of (Title IX), the College does not discriminate on the basis of sex or gender in any of its education or employment programs and activities.

Prompt and effective measures will be taken to assure that such discrimination and harassment does not occur. All charges of harassment will be taken seriously. The College encourages employees, faculty, students, vendors, and visitors to report all possible incidents of harassment.

The Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedures is designed to ensure a safe and non-discriminatory educational and work environment. The Policy and Procedures set forth how the College will proceed once it is made aware of possible prohibited conduct in keeping with our institutional values.

Every report of sexual harassment will be reviewed and a decision will be made, in partnership with the complainant, about how to reach a resolution. The investigatory/hearing process may be initiated when requested by the complainant and/or when deemed the appropriate path for resolution under the policy by the Title IX Coordinator.  Both parties (complainants and respondents) will be provided supportive measures, as appropriate.

In matters where an investigatory process is initiated, a decision on responsibility will be made by an appointed neutral decision maker, through the hearing process described in the policy. If the evidence supports based on a preponderance of evidence finding of responsibility, appropriate remedies and sanctions will be decided. Either party may appeal the outcome of the matter as outlined in the policy.

Memorandum of Understanding

On March 7, 2017, presidents of ϲʹ Cross College, Saint Mary’s College, and the University of Notre Dame signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) addressing sexual harassment. The MOU is intended to foster communication and the sharing of information across all three campus communities when dealing with episodes of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking or any other form of sexual harassment. The goal of the MOU and the tri-campus collaboration is to raise awareness and improve prevention education, resources, reporting options and procedures. Read the MOU in its entirety here.
